The result of being tripped is a flashing screen and a full volume siren that scared me shitless. It can be activated by mouse or keyboard input, motion sensors, and even being removed from a power source. It’s a glorified alarm that has a multitude of triggers especially for laptops which have motion sensors. Not sure if it can be used for many things other than scaring your cat. IAlertU is a very startling app if you don’t read the instructions as I found out. It also has an iPhone companion in the App Store which is worth checking out. It’s one of those mac apps which has a free version with little downsides, in this case a very rare advertisement thrown in with the timeline of tweets. It’s very intuitive and feels like an iLife application. Tweetie is this light-weight twitter client with highly polished apple-esque feeling to it. It’s a cool tool to make your mac look bad-ass but it’s not for the CPU or battery constrained. It lives conveniently on your menu bar and gives you a bunch of desktop options such as loading quartz composition and movies instead of an image and mini applications that are permanently on the desktop level. Mach Desktop is a really nifty, if rather gimmicky, application. I’m just throwing a couple of Mac Apps out there for people. Is it a scheme to get more people to download the app? …Or is it something more? They seek to identify and categorize the different life forms before a set date.
They claim that the “spawn particles” are more than graphics and that they are really identifiable life forms. The really odd thing is this cult following that has sprung up around it. It’s a pretty stunning effect and is a nice demonstration of the iPhone’s graphical capabilities. This App has really no purpose other than to look pretty. It’s a bit laggy but works fine for everything but gaming. I think that Snatch Test works very well and I couldn’t ask for more. I don’t even know what’s in the pay version but it’s formidable. I think this is the only free one, but the sad part is that they keep on updating the pay version to be a super franken-controlfreak-app. This is an idea that I thought would be very interesting for an iPhone even before the App Store, of course now there are a bunch of these apps. Could be useful for powerpoint presentations but…. Because chances are, if your on the same Wi-fi network, you can use your damn mac anyways. There are workarounds but you find yourself wondering very quickly why you even need to use this.
It’s easy to use as long as you know your basic information like your IP address and you know, what your network is called… So anyways, the free version is rather stunted and doesn’t have as many features as the paid version has like command keys and several other features. It’s name suggests exactly what it is, a VNC client. Yeah, if there’s a free version available I won’t buy it. Oh, so you noticed? I only buy free apps.
